Bio
Polaris Music Prize nominee Steph Cameron, from Saskatoon, Canada, is embarking on a new creative chapter with her upcoming album, Blood Moon. Scheduled for release in 2025, Blood Moon was recorded and co-produced by JUNO award-winning producer John Raham and features an all-star line-up, including Darren Parris and Leon Power (Frazey Ford, City and Colour), Clayton Linthicum (Kacy & Clayton), and Eliza Doyle (formerly of The Dead South). Drawing inspiration from the eclectic sounds of 1960s British folk and the warm, evocative tones of 1970s country/folk/rock, the album channels influences from Fairport Convention and Pentangle to Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours and Joni Mitchell’s Ladies of the Canyon.

Steph’s debut album, Sad-Eyed Lonesome Lady, was celebrated as the #1 Canadian album of the year by PopMatters and termed "stunning" by No Depression, earning a long-list nomination for the Polaris Music Prize in 2015. Her follow-up, Daybreak Over Jackson Street, received widespread acclaim in the UK and Europe, with Three Chords and the Truth calling it "a masterpiece of social commentary" and Folk and Tumble describing it as "a captivating listen."
In 2024, Steph showcased her evolving artistry with the release of her single "Today" (October 18), a heartfelt reflection on resilience and growth. Her upcoming single "Rain" (February 7, 2025), accompanied by a visually stunning music video by Versa Films, will mark the first release from Blood Moon. "Rain" delves into themes of love, loss, and humanity’s connection to the natural world, highlighting Steph’s deepened vocal range and sonic exploration.
Steph Cameron will join 3X Canadian Folk Music Award winner Abigail Lapell for a UK & European tour in May 2025, featuring performances across the UK, including at London’s iconic Jazz Cafe, as well as venues across Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, cementing her place as a dynamic voice in contemporary folk music.
